Project Overview

Creation Office delivered a full transformation of the AIS staff eatery, creating a high-end, hospitality-inspired environment designed to elevate the everyday staff experience. The goal was to move away from a standard canteen and deliver a space that feels more like a modern café or restaurant.


The Challenge

The existing space lacked identity, atmosphere, and flexibility. It didn’t reflect the quality of the business or provide an environment where staff could properly switch off, collaborate, or recharge.

AIS required a complete rethink both in layout and feel to create a destination within the workplace.


Our Approach

We approached this as more than a refurbishment—this was about creating an experience.

By combining strong design detailing with practical delivery, we introduced a layout that supports multiple ways of using the space, alongside finishes that bring warmth and quality.


Key elements included:

  • Full strip-out and reconfiguration of the space
  • Bespoke servery counter with slatted feature detailing
  • Integrated food service area with modern preparation zones
  • Feature lighting installation, including statement pendant fittings
  • Biophilic design elements with overhead planting features
  • Installation of booth seating for privacy and comfort
  • Open dining areas with mixed seating styles for flexibility
  • High-quality flooring throughout for durability and aesthetics
  • Coordinated decoration scheme to create a warm, welcoming environment
  • Joinery and wall features to add texture and depth


Design Focus

The scheme centred around creating a hospitality-led environment, blending:

  • Natural tones and textures
  • Soft lighting for a relaxed atmosphere
  • Greenery to introduce wellbeing and calm
  • A mix of social and private seating options


The result is a space that encourages both interaction and downtime something traditional canteens rarely achieve.
